In the case of design, the transitional rugs stand between traditional and contemporary rugs. There is often a traditional motif, like geometric or broken motifs, flowers and leaves or Persian paisley, which is featured as a repetitive pattern. But these designs are not limited by the traditional rules. Ruffling the balance and symmetry, or enlarging and miniaturizing the elements of the design, the designer creates something different. Transitional is a vast category and sometimes it is hard to distinguish a transitional rug from traditional and contemporary ones. This is why we call such a rug 'transitional'. In these days the fusion arts have gained lots of fans and the transitional rugs have become popular too. With their great variety, these rugs can satisfy lots of different tastes and can be used in different parts of house and workplace.
